Nobody can convince me that this would win best picture if it weren't for the fact most of the cast was Asian, that the film contained notable Chinese dialogue and also the lesbian element.

Remove the lesbianism. Change the cast to White people who only speak English and there is no way in hell this goofy flick is winning best picture, not a fucking chance. This isn't the sort of film that wins best picture.

No, it's an excellent film. I don't trust people who claim that it only won best picture because most of the cast are Asian or because the film has Chinese dialogue or because of the lesbian character.
