Can you understand this movie without The Subtitles?

I started watching this today, The Version I'm watching is from Asia and has Asian Subtitles(which I dont read or understand) it seems much of the movie they communicate through sign language which then is translated through Subtitles...

could I watch this entire film, and understand it without ever understanding any of the subtitles...

I'd say that with any movie, if you don't understand what the characters are saying (whether verbally or any other way), you're going to miss a good chunk of the film.

It would be like watching a foreign film that's in a language you don't understand and without subtitles.

I don't remember the movie having much subtitles, if any... I saw it in cinema, so can't remember for sure...
