Reasons to purchase this movie?

Personally having a media collection almost compels me to have a complete set. Yes, I am still into physical media and no I don't really tend to collecting limited editions. I don't care about figurines or have any overwhelming need for Steel-book editions also.

The advent of Digital copies and streaming though seems to me to discourage purchasing physical media and the overall poor audience reception suggest to me that few will actually purchase this at the going rate for Blu-Ray ($23) and 4K ($30) from Amazon doesn't really make owning an actual bargain.

YUP,ILL GET IT USED ON EBAY IN THE FUTURE TO FILL OUT MY COLLECTION.

reply

That is a good tactic that I hadn't thought about. I'm in no hurry to buy this anyway. Thanks for that!

reply

I REDBOX EVERYTHING.ONCE IVE SEEN IT I CAN WAIT OUT THE PRICE DROP.WAIT LONG ENOUGH YOU CAN SCOOP STUFF UP IN CHEAP LOTS.

reply

I have a friend (and I am being ridiculously serious and not joking) that also rented from Redbox and then Slyfox-ed his way into creating his collection of movies. He was a long time Napster guy and advocate for music sharing. It seemed like a lot of effort for so little benefit. Each person has a different price point for what they want. 😎

I personally liked my purchased media because of the packaging, cover art and of course all the extras that are sometimes included on additional disks in the packaging.

reply

EXACTLY...ALL TOLD BETWEEN VHS,DVD AND BLU RAY IM APPROACHING 20,000 TITLES.

reply

Impressive. I don't have that many titles and the only additional media format in my collection is LaserDisc. About 50 and it is almost criminal the cost of LaserDisc and VHS tapes back then. But slowly Blu-Ray and 4K is creeping right back into that price range.

reply

Nope. My X-Men collection ends at DOFP. I doubt i'll ever be watching this movie again.

reply

You didn't purchase "Logan"? Do you consider "Deadpool" a part of the X-Men? I have all of those also. Almost sounds like an addiction. Gotta get my media fix!!!!

reply

I'm in the minority of thinking Logan was one of the dumbest movies ever made and terribly offensive to X-Men saga as a whole. I've never appreciated Deadpool in any capacity. I also love X3 and Origins. I'm basically on the other side of the fence with the fandom.

reply

YES YOU ARE.REVERSE OF MY THOUGHTS ON XMEN...ELLEN PAGE IS ADORABLE IN X3.

reply

I liked the movie Logan and while my feelings are similar to yours, they are based on Logan aka Wolvetine being over exposed. He never was my favorite character so for me his role on the team was at the expense of others, mostly Scott. I blame that on writers and directors pandering to a vocal but rabid minority.

Would really hate to see that trend carryover into the next iteration of phases in the MCU.

reply

I still see Cyclops being sidelined in the MCU. He's a difficult character to write, even in the comics. Plus he's a big white guy. That's no good no more. At best they'd probably make him into a Captain America replacement.

Interesting perspective but not one that I share. The problem with Scott in the X-Men movies was that he existed only as a foil for Wolverine and had no identity of his own. That was a choice that the director made and could have easily been the other way around.

reply

No, I wouldn't purchase it. This was just alright and not something I would ever rewatch.

I bought the digital code for $8 in HDX. Definitely worth it, in my opinion. I'm glad they finally gave Cyclops a lead role, especially compared to how they treated his character in the original trilogy. Also, the Dazzler cameo was awesome :) It really isn't as bad as a lot are saying. It's definitely better than Apocalypse, which I also enjoyed.

reply

Purchase it if you like psychological thrillers. Basically, the plot centers on Jean having schizophrenia and Xavier having a messiah complex.
