I thought dark Phoenix was already in jean?

The solar flares created it inside ?

It was already inside in Apocalypse. The solar flare is supposed to be the thing that unlocks her true potential. But of course the movie fails to explain anything. Just like it fails at everything else.

They did in the scene which explains what the cosmic force is. Vuk said the force was drawn to her and says “You’re special, Jean. You’re stronger than you know”.

Not really if you follow the other comics or shows, the pheonix has always been inside of her. The alien power that goes in her body just brings it out and uses it for evil.

or

jean had a phoenix since she was little girl, but in the dark phoenix which entered into Jean's body was not phoenix but only cosmic which made the strength of the phoenix in jean body stronger.
