They rushed to Phonix too soon in X-2

At end of the X-men 2: united Jean gets killed and transforms into phoenix. I they rushed to get that ending when they have not yet explored the X-men world. There are so many characters that needed to be introduced. Many storylines needed to be adapted. Why such a rush to bring a important story so soon. Now this forces the next film maker to bring the Dark phoenix storyline.

I agree. Also the movie storylines have made it so the Phoenix is an integral part of Jean rather than another creature using her. Kind of makes it hard to cure her, doesn't it?

I understand but the phonix entity from comics will be difficult to adapt in the x-men universe Fox was doing. In Marvel comics the universe was bigger with cosmic world but the movie universe was limited to only earth. So they went with internal stuff.
