Why did Smith have to put his daughter in the movie. She can’t act and isn’t funny. I loved the scenes with Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, and there was a lot of funny parts, but having his daughter in such a big part wrecked a lot of the movie. You think Smith would of learned from Yoga Hosers.
Because he can... I mean, why the hell wouldn't he? Sure, she is no actor, but that sort makes it even more obvious, in a sense - who else would give her such chances..... Shouldn't we all be so lucky to have a dad like that? :)
The movie here even joked that he always hires his daughter, so he is aware of the fact.... anyway, a movie like this is a hell of a blast to make and won't be much more than the journey itself... and he wants to share it with those he loves the most... all power to him.
I mean, if you can’t make a great movie to go down in history, you might as well just sit back and enjoy the ride... with the ones you love. He did, it seems.
This film is a love letter to her, and their relationship ... it is not to us. She HAD to be in it.
Wow you’re an idiot he’s a filmmaker and it’s a disservice to his fans to put his daughter in his movies. People pay money to see his movies and is job to put out movies worth watching so you’re just a clown.
Why that tone? Incredibly rude and counterproductive to chatting about movies... I merely shared why I think he keeps casting his daughter, despite her lack of quality.... you know, an answer to your question.
From a mover goers perspective, like what you commented, I absolutely agree; it is annoying as hell. He does it, I speculate, for his own enjoyment.. he made it more for his daughter than for us, it seems.
Anyway, peace... and try to be kinder, man. We all love the movies.
I agree that Zack and Miri was his last good one - that I've seen. Haven't seen them all, though I used to see every one that came out. I haven't heard good things about the others, either.
I'll probably give this one a chance, though. I've heard it's more in line with the movies from the first half of his career.
too me he just strung together a bunch of cameos and casted comedian fred armisen in it also. i sped through it and didn't even follow the story. why was fred in it?
I wanted to enjoy it but I just wrote it off as hollywood bullcrap.
