Reminded me of Venom

Yep. I believe Upgrade was being compared to Venom before the 2nd Venom trailer... where Venom himself was finally shown... even came out. Moreover, the resemblance (and acting style) between Tom Hardy & Logan Marshall Green is also something that’s been pointed out.

And while some funny people would say, “Venom reminded you of Upgrade”... the fact is Venom was Venom; the film was inspired by, well, its source material. As such, Upgrade had echoes of Venom. But regardless, I dig both films.

I enjoyed both films but acknowledge that neither were very good. I thought Upgrade was superior.

Sure... but Upgrade was way better movie than Venom...

It's the Venom movie we should have gotten.

Yes, Venom popped up pretty quickly for me. The symbiotic relationship, the voice in his head, enhanced abilities... and I too was aware of the long time physical comparisons between Tom Hardy and Logan Marshall Green.

I wonder if there was chatter between the respective producers/writers that led to a subconscious sharing of concepts?
