The drone at the crime scene(plothole?)

so the drone recorded the whole incident but unable to zoom in on the assailant faces to identify them? Yet Stem is able to decipher a small tatoo on one of them from the footage, kinda make no sense isnt it?

it was explained that the faces were blocked from the video, they had some special blocking devices, the black detective said it herself. They could not zoom in what is blocked. But those who blocked faces forgot about other body parts it seems. So STEM found out.

My main issue was that they were able to 'rebuild' the tattoo with so much detail. Fair enough, you have a rough shape and location, standard for military personnel. But generating the bar code and all that detail was a bit much. Too CSI for me. I'm all for the idea that drones in the future are capable of carrying Gigapan style zoom tech cameras but there has to be a better image to work from.

But maybe he didn't decipher the tattoo. We learned the truth in the end, and it could be that Stem knew about this tattoo from a previous encounter as he/it was essentially the one who hired them, and it goes to reason that he/it just acted as though it was from the surveillance....

Ah. Very good point. Of course, Stem was in on it from the beginning so it would have already had the image. Silly me.
