Paul W.S. Anderson's worst movie?

Look, I actually like Paul W.S. Anderson. I know a lot of people bitch about him, but I enjoyed Mortal Kombat, the Resident Evil series, Soldier, Pompeii, AvP and The Three Musketeers. Yes, the films are uneven and none of them are perfect but I had fun with them.

Monster Hunter though is a piece of shit. The cast does well and the effects are pretty good, but the story--what little of it there is--sucks. There's basically only enough story for it to technically qualify as a movie and even then the narrative is derivative, dull and poorly told.

Like I said, I usually like Anderson's films, so I was looking forward to his first movie in four years. But this was a bad effort. I even remember thinking that Ron Perlman had to know he was making a piece of shit even as it was happening and thought to himself, "Well, as long as the check clears."

C'mon, Paul! Do better next time!
