Wait a second, why didn't James Cameron direct this?
I mean, it's a no brainer for Cameron to come back and direct another Terminator, the franchise that started his A-list director status. How could he pass this up?

shareBusy with Avatar sequels I guess.
shareSo, he sticks with Avatar that hasn't had a sequel yet and it's been over 12 years since the original? Was Avatar really all that great? What is wrong with this guy? He must be fighting with the studios over something trivial.
shareI heard Avatar sequels will blow your mind and worth waiting.

He doesn't need it.
shareHe read the script as said - 'fuck, this shit is even worse than Avatar - I guess I'll go back to directing 10 sequels to avatar'.
shareI guess had he been content with Avatar as one film like Titanic hed have come back to write/direct Terminator (probably earlier than DF so maybe instead of Genysis) and doubt it'd have been anything like DF. and maybe taken over Alien again after Ridley - maybe Fox would've had JC do an Aliens sequel instead of Ridley doing Covenant (I could totally see him pouring all his Avatar sequel efforts into expanding the world of Aliens)
