The brother (spoilers)
Do you think it may have helped the movie if he'd stayed alive longer and had been more of a major character rather than redshirting him early on? They could still have killed him off or imcapacitated him later, maybe during the border crossing or on the plane or during the dam battle, but there might have been less complaints about the cast if a (human) male character had been given a bigger role, likewise, I didn't think we'd really known the character long enough to notice him missing.
