Her character was so annoying. And she didn’t have the looks to be a credible romance interest for the lead. The fat Hawaiian friend was charming and funny. MJ offered nothing good.
This show lost me once she learned about Peter’s Spider-Man identity.
I don't like her much either. I didn't like Raimi's Mary Jane either. I doubt we'll ever see the red haired upbeat Mary Jane from the comics and we won't since Sony and Marvel don't want characters to look like the ones from the previous movies.
(Whoops, I responded which means I automatically do care according to internet rule. D’oh!)
But annoying and doesn’t have the credible romantic looks, huh? I see. First of all, to each his superficial own. Second of all, since it seems you were introduced to her LOVABLY - and deliberately in fact - annoying character and Peter’s buddy, Ned, in Far From Home, go watch Homecoming.
While it should be obvious in Far From Home that MJ isn’t someone who’s looking to seek the approval of others (other than Peter’s, of course), the first film made it pretty clear that this dorky MJ.... as Peter himself described her... isn’t supposed to be your typical oh-so-bubbly and eye-popping romantic interest. She’s much better than that. Keeping that in mind, way to miss the point! (I see that’s nothing new based on ur other posts, though). That said, she’s endearing in her own right and her relationship with Peter is not only believable, but adorable (yea I said it).
I can’t get enough of her character, and you bet I’m happpy about her returning for the next installment. So she ruined the show for you and others? (A certain salty group was definitely done with her after she “unnecessarily” stated a historical fact in Homecoming. Lol, fragile reactionaries.) Welp, sucks for you! Obviously you’ll need to skip the third film in order to avoid this inconvenience. But I’m happy to report that that won’t be the case for myself many more. Peace.
They're definitely interchangeable terms. But in this modern tv era it's common to separate them now. But back in the day, movies were called shows all the time.
I am not an idiot who doesn't know the difference between a show and movie. All I was saying is that none of the movies have really come close to the basis of the comics enough. But never mind you're obviously one of those anti comics snobs like that guy Luke Loves Film on imdb. You can like all the changes in the movies they have made all you want but I do not. Frankly Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 are the only Spider-Man movies I have liked though I admit they aren't that much like the comics either except for getting Peter Parker and Spider-Man right.
There's nothing wrong with her looks but I did find the way the actress came across to be grating. She just comes across as boyish & everything out of her mouth is a sarcastic quip & that gets kind of old. I don't know if it's more of an issue with the actress herself or the way she was directed.
I'm not a kid living in 2020. I have no idea if this kind of attitude and behavior that she exhibits is sexy or not. But I find her insufferable. It's not the actress, she does lots of other stuff that's fine. That's the character they made up for her.
