shareYou could theoretically produce embryos from DNA sequences in a database. The ones Mother has ready to go may have been created that way, and more could be made if necessary. But the presence of artifacts from the civilization we recognize in the Woman's cargo container home - including the container itself and the grounded ship - argue against a far future date and in favor of this being the first reboot. Although I don't doubt the AI will reboot again if it thinks the new society is going in the wrong direction.
shareGood point about that ship, the containers, and the condition they were in--they give some indication of the timeline. I suppose the canned food does too--that doesn't last forever. And the new farm was only 6 months old.
