Mike Rinder
I love this show, and I hope they finally get the tax exempt status taken from the evil cult.
Meanwhile, where is Mike Rinder from? He has the strangest accent.

I do too! I have been watching (and warning about) their behavior since the mid 80's when I read an article about the church in Time magazine (magazines were less obviously biased back then). I was shocked back then and could not believe that they were allowed to act this way over so much time. This series is fantastic and hopefully will finally make a difference.
Mike's accent has bedeviled me as well. It's like a combo of Boston, British, and The Beatles.
I sincerely hope so. I hope the IRS shows some balls and eliminates their ridiculous tax exempt status.
And Mike's accent sounds like no other I've ever heard. It's fascinating because it's unique.
😎
He's Australian.

By George! So he is. But he sounds like no Australian I've ever heard. His accent is unique, and thus fascinating.
😎
Is that right? I'm kind of surprised to hear that.
I have to say, I guessed immediately that he was Australian. He certainly sounded more Australian than British. My next guess would've been South African, but I definitely assumed he grew up kicking it with Croc Dundee.
Well done, sir! Apparently you have a keener ear than I do.
😎
Perhaps one explanation for what seems to you to be a strange accent is that he has spent so much time around Americans. Maybe it's rubbed off a bit and muddied up his natural Australian accent.
share
No, that's not it. He has a way of pronouncing certain words which I have never heard before, from anyone.
He doesn't sound American, British, Aussie.....or anything. He's unique.
😎
PS Thanks!
😎
He's Australian. Pretty strong accent.
Didn't know you were back!👋
Yes I am, my cute LDG! I was on a 20 day tour of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. It was great: friendly people, fantastic food and amazing sights. Highlights included the Hanoi Hilton, Ankor Wat in Cambodia, and the real Bridge on the River Kwai in Thailand.
I also enjoyed watching a chess tournament in Bangkok. It was the ultimate test of cerebral fitness, and the best use of Queens I've ever seen.

Wow, I'm kind of jealous. Okay, I'm not a fan of chess, but the rest sounds darn cool!
share
It was! I'm not a chess fan either. That was a joke to go along with the video. I'll probably post more details later.
How's things in your neck of the woods?
😎
I love this show! Just gives us more reasons to outlaw Scientology.
share
So do I. But it shouldn't be outlawed, its tax exempt status should be revoked.
😎
It should be outlawed the ‘religion’ is a evil cult.
share
Of course it's an evil cult. But no, only Leftists like you want to outlaw groups. If you start outlawing groups
or organizations, where do you stop? I hate the Democrat/Socialist Party, but I'm not going to advocate outlawing
them. That would be the solution in the old Soviet Union.
Dude, this is America. We intelligent Conservatives just believe it should have its tax exempt status removed.
Wake up.
😎
Russia, which has outlawed both Scientology and Jehovah's Witnesses in the last few years, is certainly not a leftist government even though former Communists and "closet" Communists, as you have noted in a previous thread about Putin in the General Discussion board, still run the country's admistration.
If anything, Russia has turned 180 degrees in favor of enforcing and supporting values heralding age-old traditions, religious sensibilities, and cherry picking the best parts of the both the old Tsarist and Soviet regimes to reinject back into their society, for better or worse. Other than that one detail, I share your view.
~~/o/
Russia is not a leftist government???? 😵 Are you reading the words you're typing? No offense intended Bro,
but that's the dumbest statement I've heard in a LONG time! I won't dignify that with further debate.
Yeah, Russia has returned to good old Russian traditions, like outlawing groups. Free countries do NOT outlaw groups, only totalitarian regimes do that. Russia is NOT a free country.
😵
Just because Russia is not a free country does not make it leftist.
~~/o/
Yeah, it really does. It's both leftist and totalitarian. Only leftists outlaw groups, and make enemies "disappear" as Putin has done repeatedly.
😎
If Russia is a such a leftist country today:
Why does it heavily provide tax incentives to private businesses?
Why have private industry at all?
Totalitarian can either be left or right.
Politics is not exclusive in making people "disappear."
A true totalitarian society has no religion except one that worships the state.
It's hard for a human leader to be ruler of all when there's a higher power always above.
While Russia is cracking down on some religious groups, Russian Orthodox is experiencing cultural resurgence since rising from the Russian underground, avoiding Soviet persecution.
Currently, a Greek Orthodox synod in Istanbul is being punished by its mother church from Moscow for daring to recognize a breakaway sect in Ukraine that has no loyalties to Russia whatsoever.
I'm am fascinated by what you have to say. This is what I understand. Please fill me in and I will gladly do the same.
~~/o/
Having or helping private businesses does not make a right wing or free country. There are private business in almost any country, even in Communist China. That's because those governments tolerate them because they know they work. But Communist China is still a leftist and totalitarian regime, just like Russia.
In fact, providing incentives to private businesses IS leftist. Governments should not be in the business of choosing winners or losers. That is for a free marketplace to decided. Obama did that, and he is definitely a leftist, and it did not work.
Totalitarian countries are almost always leftist. Even Nazi Germany was a leftist government, despite what most people believe. They were national socialists, and the government tightly controlled the people, the economy and industry. Name me one right wing totalitarian regime.
Russia allows some religions to exist, but to them, the government IS the religion of Russia.
And I am fascinated that you actually believe that Russia is not a Leftist country. You're normally an intelligent poster, but you have this one so wrong it's painful.
😎
There is a lot more that can be elaborated on. It seems we agree on the general principle of the subject and what it is, though how we define them is a different matter. Thank you for the enlightened discussion. I will continue to ponder and consider what you have told me and I hope you will do the same.
That way, we know our exchanged words mean something and do not fall on deaf ears. Just so we're clear, I hold no animosity toward you, nor should I. Rest easy, friend. It's easy to pretend you respect a person, but it is another to know that person can be frank with you, earning their respect.
~~/o/
You're welcome, and I harbor none towards you.
😎
You actually think your intelligent? You think russia is a leftist country! People like you should be banned from voting and the internet.
share
Spoken like the true Socialist/Communist and idiot that you are. Only totalitarian regimes want to outlaw
or ban people or things. You would have been right at home in the old Soviet Union, Komrade Klown.
😎
The soviets were disgusting, I am not a commie. You likely idolize hitler. You would have been right at home in nazi germany. No other reason you would support the racist con man.
share
Oh dear. Komrade Klown is still butt hurt. You likely idolize Stalin. You would have loved running one of his numerous purges since you love to outlaw stuff.
Get your safety pin, go back to your safe space, and play with your Play-dough, and the rest of your toys.
This is so much fun!

I just reported you, so you should be hearing from the mods. Have a crappy life you low grade racist moron.
