Surprised This Board Isn't Already More...

... active. I imagine after the show debuts tonight, it will be. If it gets enough traffic pertinent to the topic, I just hope it won't be overrun by brain-dead Scientologists and all around trolls like what happened on the "Going Clear" board last year.

Anybody watching this? Or if you see this later tonight, did you watch?

reply

i'm watching it now 

Better quality than I expected and liked Leah a lot after watching this. She seems very down to earth and normal. Amy Scobee's story, just gripping. Age 14 to 42. Hard to believe anyone could come of a cult at that age after so long. Shows very smart and strong willed people can even be swindled by cults.

reply

Amy's story was heart-breaking, from being raped at 14, to a lifetime ine Sea Org... just terrible. Her escape and thriving afterward is a real testament to her courage and strength. I'm glad her mother got to leave as well and speak out before she passed.

It has better than I expected too. I'm an even bigger fan of Leah than before for continuing to speak out and give other survivors a chance to tell their stories.

I just finished watching and had difficulty finding these boards as they are NOT LISTED under Leah Remini's IMDb page. 

I finally Googled "Leah Remini" and backtracked thru "Scientology The Aftermath." The point being: they don't make it easy...

...what's up with that?

reply

Good point. For all I know, this board wasn't up until pretty much the last minute, and yes, it wasn't easy to find. My TV Guide merely called it "Leah Remini," and I got lucky on the IMDb app, where it prompted me to the full title after typing her name.

reply

It is actually listed on her page.
It's under the 'Self' header of her credits and not under the first one that you see, which is the 'Actress' header :)

reply

I'm glad it is now. It wasn't under "self" when I first checked.

You can NOT watch it here. The file is corrupted or something but I am leaving the website link in case anyone wants to watch free stuff online. Takes a while to figure out how it works but most films and tv work fine there. Just NEVER give your card if you are redirected to another site. That's not how it works.

Hope the link works

reply

thanks so much, the link worked but as i tried to register to stream it, it asked for my credit card info, i know it says it won't charge but i'm a lil paranoid about putting out that info on random websites, do you use that website? if so, has it ever tried to charge u for anything? i'm gonna keep the website bookmarked tho so thanks again!! 

reply

NO NO NO!!! Do not give your card. I have never had that happen to me. It's a site that plays other sites videos. Not sure how it works. That's why on the top of the movie it says "keeps buffering? Click for another version." On the right hand of the page you will see all the available versions. Looks like for this movie they are all the same pretty much and not good. Happens sometimes, but rarely.

Sorry about that, should have checked it if worked first. I usually have no trouble on that site. Sometimes a few ads pop up but adblock is good for that. Takes a while to get used to it but once you know the way it works it's great!! I watch almost everything on there for FREE. If you download torrents I know you can find it. That's how I got it. Good luck!

They do have some other scientology documentaries there if you are interested.

reply

oh ok thanks so much for telling me, i used to have a torrent site that i would go to for downloading tv shows/movies/music etc... www.torrentz.eu but it no longer works, i think whoever made it got arrested or something which is bull but not surprising, it sucked, it was a huge torrent site too but ever since it went down, i haven't found another torrent site like it  but i'm definitely interested in whatever Scientology documentaries i can get, i'm just very fascinated by it even knowing how evil the people are that are in charge of it 

Hi there,
Here's a good torrent site https://thepiratebay.org/. Sometimes it gets down but if that happens just look up "piratebay proxy" and you can find all of their proxy sites and if they are up or down. They have never been able to shut them down permanently. Hope that helps. I just looked up torrentz proxy and I got some hits (https://proxyportal.org/torrentz). Point is, if a site is down always check for proxies.
Good luck!

I like her drive in exposing what goes on behind the walls of Scientology. It was distracting though, to have the disclaimer screen (eye achingly displayed on black with white lettering) between each segment, and the commercial breaks were way too frequent, taking me out of the moment, so to speak. But I'll continue watching it. "Going Clear" was well done, and I want to hear/see Leah's perspective on it too.

reply

I did not care for the print on the black background either. On my tv, I could barely read them. I DVR'd the program so I got to bypass commercials, but it did seem like a lot. I'll continue doing that for future episodes.

Anyone interested in this cult should definitely watch "Going Clear," and this show is a good "after program" to watch. I hope they delve more into Shelly Miscavige, as "Going Clear" did not discuss her. With Leah really starting to question the group after Shelly's disappearance and the reaction she got when merely asking where she was got Tom's wedding, I'm sure it will be discussed more. I know the mossing person's report yeilded nothing, but Shelly being locked away (as the case with other members, past and present) is a frightening thought. David is an absolute psycho.

Agreed. Going Clear is much more informative as to what Scientology is about. Seems Leah's show will give more of a personal take and feel, but that is to be expected.
