Scientology - Revoke the tax-exempt staus for this cult.

...and force them to pay back-taxes on years that they have dodged.

Enough is enough, this cult is a menace. Do it NOW!

We can agree on that but let's begin with the most egregious offenders, the low-hanging-fruit on the rotten tree.

They will do what they always do, send thousands of lawyers with petitions to be recognized as a religion. The IRS doesn't even want to deal with the legal battle this cult puts out.

Although if they took this to supreme Court, it wouldn't be recognized, as I can't see a grand jury siding with them.

It will take someone as ballsy as Leah to take them on and strip the word "church" as a defense to hide behind. Then millions of people can sue and get their money back on a capitalist cult, do pastors charge $300 for bible study? No. Why should they?

It reminds me of these two gypsy con-artists I saw on Unsolved Mysteries. They scammed people out of tens of thousands. They do say buyer beware, but they get away with preying on the gullible which shouldn't be legal.

You'll end up paying this "church" $300,000 just to be recognized. It's a pyramid scheme. The firstcourse is like $120,000.

A person hates you because they either wanna be you, see you as a threat, or hate themself

No different really than the cult of Dr. Gene Scott. Amazing how in his religion, you got to curse, lust after porno wannabees in bikinis, do every other sin but as long as you coughed over the giving... then he married a former porn actress and after he died, made HER the pastwhore, ummm, pastor of the church.

Another for profit religion.

Technically, it isn't legal, but since we did just elect one of the most successful con men in history to the White House I don't expect we're going to see more law enforcement effort put into protecting the gullible.

Agreed. I can't believe this cult managed to get away with this. It's impressive (but in no way respectable or in any way positive) that they were able to bully the IRS into backing off but this needs to end.

Although I'm not a fan of him, I would really like to see Trump go after them. I think it would take someone as ruthless as they are to bring them down.

Does he have a public opinion on this cult?

reply

You think Trump gives a crap about this? I can just see him shrugging his shoulders.

Scientology drove the IRS nuts with lawsuits till they caved and granted them tax exempt status. How does that get undone?

In the meantime these criminals are rolling in money. Billions.

reply

Revoke it for ALL churches

reply

They tried that before and Scientology blackmailed the IRS folks. Successfully will add.

Nothing wrong with a good and comprehensive audit though.
