You just know that he was called that and beaten up by bullies when he was a kid and a teenager, so of course he's the ideal type to fall into and ultimately rise to a power position in a cult like Scientology.

Crawford:"Are you sympathizing with this guy now?"
Graham:"Absolutely. My heart bleeds for him as a child. Someone took a kid and manufactured a monster. At the same time, as an adult, he's irredeemable. As an adult, someone should blow the sick **** out of his socks."

A slight deviation from the classic exchange in "Manhunter" just to make a point.



Gerry Armstrong was (and maybe still is) one of the most harassed ex-Scientologists. He's interesting for his insights, as for one thing he was charged with writing Hubbard's biography, and he discovered many documents that had been squirreled away. He realized that many stories that Hubbard told about himself were false, and that was the beginning of him wanting to leave Scientology.
