Watching this, and the part with Sergio Gil, I wondered what people have asked on here before: where did he get the money to leave the church, being disconnected from his family, but they showed him living in this really nice apartment. He looked like he was no older than 19, and was probably only "home schooled" in the church, but appeared to be living on his own in style.
shareThat lawyer was a joke. Once she said "ministering" instead of "administering" when discussing a test given to Sergio, I couldn't take her seriously. Shouldn't lawyers be educated enough to know simple words?
shareHer excessive blinking and rolling of the eyes - just her inability to make eye contact - made me think she was full of it. She's just doing lawyer stuff, trying to put a good spin on a bunch of crap.
They said two big wheels left Scientology - Mike Rinder was one and there was another (can't remember the name) and he tried to set up a Scientology without Miscavige's influence. He was harassed by the church members, had a blog against Miscavige and his wife filed suit against the harassers. Suddenly his blog is no longer anti-Miscavige and his wife dropped the lawsuit. I wonder what happened? If they had blackmail info you'd think that would have come out right away. I think maybe they paid him off.
Rathbun's change of heart (if it can be called that) didn't surprise me one bit. I don't expect much from someone who still believes Scientology's ludicrous doctrine. He never gave up on the belief in body thetans, etc.
