Male Shaming in the Q&A:not bashing anyone;just observing:

(So refrain from any accusations that I'm trolling or part of a supposed War on Women; was legitimately perturbed by this sequence, especially after sitting through a series which takes the p--s out COS for, amongst other transgressions, shaming folks for having regular thoughts and emotions.)

Remini's reaction to Rinder's declaring "I've seen it" when she recalls posing for Stuff magazine: 'That's disgusting." Putting aside the fact that she willingly partook in the shoot sans coercion of any sort and presumably was aware of such a magazine's target audience, whens's the last time we heard anyone chide a woman in such a fashion for reading Fifty Shades of Grey or a historical romance?

Didn't seem particularly jocose in her reaction. Apples and oranges.... To my mind, only if we're also going to deem Rambo thoughtful social commentary on the plight of Vietnam vets in the aftermath of their service("apples")whilst decrying the Lethal Weapon franchise as exploitative and piggybacking off the "psycho Vietnam vet" stereotype("oranges"). Nonetheless, in the interest of having an open mind, how do you figure the two are different Stimp? Not out to start an argument, even if I can't promise to agree with your sentiments. I'm sincerely eager to read your response.

She was basically telling a friend "Ewww, you looked at my body *that* way?" It's a joking thing, which was obvious.

If Fifty Shades of Grey were an actual memoir (i.e., an account of true events) and a male friend told the author he'd read it, THAT would be an analogous situation - that would be "apples and apples," basically. And the author reacting to the male friend in the same way that Remini reacted - with a clearly joking "Ewwww" kind of reaction - couldn't fairly be described as "shaming"; it would just be two friends interacting in a lighthearted way.

Honestly, I'm now feeling a bit of shame for wasting my time trying to explain something so obvious to someone with what seems like a straight-up MRA attitude.

Her sanitized account of the actual photoshoot in question("I was wearing a bathing suit". Depends upon what photo and indeed, which cover you were referring to, Leah.)coupled with her reaction when all Rinder said was "I saw it"(if he followed this up with any vulgar gestures, do share. I don't recall any such thing occurring.)isn't exactly comparable to Chrissy Teigen's unruffled retort following her Anne Hathawayesque malfunction at the AMAs. My name not being Charles Xavier, I can't be certain that Remini WASN'T joking, it's true, nonetheless words on the order of: "Wasn't I a dish back then, Mike?" would've been more indicative of a light hearted view of the situation. She seemed at least partially disgusted.

Well, Stimp, sensitive New Age male that I am, I'll make a point of walking back outside into 30 degree temperatures for the sole purpose of leaving my privilege at the door so that you no longer feel shame over posting on this thread. This despite my inability to pass the proverbial brown bag test.

Yes, she had enough sense to leave the church, but it's not like she is the pinnacle of intelligence.

No wonder IMDb is getting rid of the Message Boards! I can't believe there's so much conversation on this topic! Leah Remini is known to be a comedian in most if not all of her acting roles. Did you ever see "It's All Relative"? Even when she is just being herself and hanging out with family (and more so then), she is hilarious with her smart-ass comments! She is totally kidding around with her close buddy when she says "that's disgusting Mike". He "got it", I "got it"....that's Leah! Why would anybody think otherwise? And then go to the extreme of posting it here?

Well, this is a hell of a way to find out such news; hadn't noticed IMDB's heads up on the top of the page prior. Counting yourself, Cm, only two IMDBers have partaken in the chat thus far. Hardly "so much conversation"....

She was clearly joking, like when Mike said that he did wrong to John Sweeney and the other reporter and she said he was disgusting.
