Xenu

I don't believe they discussed this much, if at all. I thought there was a mention, in one of the later episodes, that the whole "alien coming to earth" thing is something that is never spoken of to outsiders--against some rule or something.

I'm sure others can clarify, though, in case I'm mistaken.


As for WHY they haven't mentioned it, I think it's likely because what people believe is their own business and shouldn't be the object of ridicule. The show is about exposing the actual running of the 'church' and treatment of its members, not what those members believe.

Very brief mention in one episode (the 1st 'ask me anything, I think). Upshot is that Rinder said most $cientologists don't really believe the story. He said it's a parable, which doesn't make sense to me because I understand parables to be allegories and I can't see how the tale is an allegory for anything. *shrug*

Annoyingly when the BBC guy brought it up Leah seemed embarrassed (naturally!) and didn't come out and say if she believed that nonsense but implied that she did---although she was taught to obfuscate the truth: according to CoS, telling the truth about Xenu and his DC10s could kill you.

They talk about Xenu, just not at length. The basics is that there's a reason Scientologists don't talk about Xenu and that's because they think that if you aren't ready for that knowledge, knowing it will literally kill you. That's why they keep it a secret, they don't want people to die.

It's ludicrous, as are all their teachings but "This is what Scientologists actually believe".

Leah mentioned that she didn't talk about this in that famous interview because they believe that "truth" can kill a normal person like you and me, and if they did they had to pay $100,000 if I'm correct, it's in one of their contracts.
