Different levels of celebrities?!

At some point during the show Leah mentioned that when she wasn't working on a TV show or other projects, she -- like basically every member of the CoS -- had to devote her spare time to doing "chores" and other work for the church. Basically every single day. No vacations, no free time. You either work your actual job in front of the camera or you work for the church. Given that she was and is a fairly well-known TV celebrity I was kinda surprised to hear that.

Which makes me wonder: are all celebrity members actually treated that way? Or do the A-listers get a pass? Like, do Leah Remini and Kirstie Alley and Jenna Elfman have to do chores every day in what should be their free time while Tom Cruise and John Travolta can sunbathe in the Caribbean?

As far as I know every member is the same way, not just celebrities. The whole point of Scientology is getting to the highest level where you learn everything. But as Leah said in one episode new things are discovered and you back down the ladder. You are always working your way up.

Vacations and other things are not going to happen for anyone in Scientology. I've read a bunch of books on the subject one girl growing up only ever got to go be with family for Christmas once the whole time she growing up. It was just for 3 days. That was the first time she ever saw life outside Scientology and she was surprised at what she saw. Kids were able to have fun and be kids.

It isn't chores like cleaning your room that they have, they are working nonstop either at their jobs, their jobs in Scientology or studying for their current course.

I think because Leah grew up in Scientology and then became famous, she didn't receive the special celebrity treatment like Travolta or Cruise, who joined AFTER they became famous.

I don't think Travolta was famous when he joined. He got Welcome Back, Kotter shortly after he joined.

Believe that was when she was on TV but only getting some work, like guest appearances on Cheers, Saved by the Bell, etc.

She made it clear that things changed when she hit it big on King of Queens, but then seemed there was less "chores" and more expensive level training, promo apprearances and "why can't you convert Kevin James".

I don't know, but I highly doubt Tom Cruise is cleaning bathrooms in his spare time.
