Are there any black people in Scientology?
Besides Will and Jada?
shareI've seen videos with an ex-Scientologist named Jesse Prince. He's African-American.
Also, Doug E. Fresh is a Scientologist.
Overall, though, not many black Scientologists. Historical racism might have something to do with that. The cult's founder had some ugly racist views. For instance, he had a dim view of South African blacks.
Jesse Prince is very interesting to listen to. As a top exec he was witness to the shift from Hubbard to Miscavige. At the time he left in 1992 I think he was the highest ranking Scientologist to ever get out.
Jesse tells his story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoXnKJjVrSU
Thanks for the link. I started listening to it but couldn't for long. Too many disturbing horror stories about Scientology, and I couldn't listen to yet another one for very long.
shareThis video is excellent. Thank you for sharing it. I love how Jesse calls him Dead L. Ron.
I remember reading about Jesse in the book Going Clear (which I recommend everyone read) or watch the documentary of the same name on HBO.
I don't think Scientology is going anywhere. It's too big and has too much money and knows who's pockets to put the money in. Plus, there are people there that's been for years and years and have been brainwashed to no end.
Again, thank you for sharing this video.
The Internet is proving to be $cientology's downfall. It used to be easy for the church to hide secrets (e.g., the Xenu story) and unpleasant realities (disconnection, fraud) from recruits. Now, anyone can find out the truth in a few minutes online. That's gotta hurt recruitment.
shareYES! Exactly. Free flowing info on the internet, and Leah Remini and other ex-Scientologist continuing to speak out will bring this cult down, hopefully sooner rather than later.
I'm proud of Leah, A&E, the other producers, and ex-scientologists for exposing the truth. I hope they continue to do so. The forced disconnecting from families, the psychological abuse, the stalking, etc. are all criminal. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg here. And that compound in Hemet, CA has to be shut down. People are being held against their will in a barbed-wired prison camp.
Historical racism has nothing to do with; it's all Deal L Ron's idea. He didn't like people of color, thus no one as allowed in. However, Misgivings allows anyone in as long as they can pay the money and take the abuse.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
Mike Rinder just tweeted about this. As you saw in last weeks ep, the spokesperson is black, but mostly they go after middle class suburban type people
Damn the man! Save the Empire! Rave On, Rave On
Doug E Fresh. Wow had no idea.
I'm behind 2 episodes so haven't seen the black spokesperson yet.

Scientology is extrely opportunistic. They will recruit anyone. However, their marketing material is extremely biased towards the white, middle class here in the States. If you look at their "mission" work in other countries you'll see a more mixed racial distrubution.
But overall Scientology is often viewed as not being very diverse.
You must not be watching or you would have seen CoS PR person confront the crew shooting B roll footage outside the Flag in Clearwater? She was Black.
shareProbably too smart to be suckered into the science fiction plot of L. Ron Hubub.
