I didn't watch the show last night...(3rd episode)

I believe, so I apologize if this topic has already been brought up...but my question, and it is very blunt and to the point: Why would anyone need to spend thousands of dollars to find 'enlightenment'?

Libraries across the nation have books people can check out at no cost.

Bookstores sell all kinds of books.

The internet only costs you want you pay for service. (and libraries have Wi-Fi you can connect to..as well as public computers you can use...and most places have free Wi-Fi that you can connect to.)

So, I guess...why must a person spend all this money to take classes and be audited just to become 'enlightened'?

Another question...do Scientologist know that L. Ron Hubbard is a science fiction writer?

it's not just that, they make you feel wanted, they tell you they can make you better and more successful person, its a lot to offer, I imagine most followers would end up in another religion and/or cult if they werent a member.

yeah they know he was a science fiction writer, they made Battlefield Earth with Travolta, Pepper etc.

They have a term for that in Scientology--they call it "love bombing." At first, they make you feel special and tell you what a good decision you have made. At some point it turns into coercion. Celebrities, of course, are treated with kid gloves.
