I've binged watched this series on HBO Max. Mary is a major pain in the ass. She's the ONLY character on the show that's irritating. I can only recall her having 1 or 2 funny lines in 3 seasons. I grew up in church, and hated it even as a child, so I get a kick out of Sheldon's occasional sparring with her about her beliefs.
Other than her, this is a really entertaining show.
I agree, can't stand her. Her character was an annoying religious fanatic on the original show too so it's not a surprise.
shareDidn't Lance Barber once make a comment that he would not do an affair on the show? I seem to remember the producers were trying to figure a way around it.
shareI keep thinking they're going to have do some retconning from TBBT. It's a kid friendly family sitcom! They can't portray what Sheldon said about his parents splitting up on this show.
shareThere was an article stating that he said he would not do the affair on the show. But I think it's a easy work around.
shareI thought Mary on TBBT could be annoying at times and funny at other times while the Mary on YS isn't as annoying or as funny.
