I wonder if this show is supposed to be set in Sheldon's hometown of Galveston, Texas? On The Big Bang Theory when Sheldon would return to his hometown it didn't even seem like they were in Galveston. Others have made the same comment online, that it seems more like they are in a small east Texas town, but not an island city like Galveston. I've been to Galveston a number of times and I thought they would make a reference to the Gulf or the tourists there, or maybe the university, UTMB.

Well in the premier they I believe they mentioned that they moved to Medford TX. So far the show looks good, but his father is obviously a much better person than his mother described in TBBT.

It was explained that they moved away from Galveston when Sheldon's father was fired for whistleblowing on a corruption scandal.

When Sheldon has returned to Texas, they have only shown the interior of his mother's house. How can that not seem like they were in Galveston?

They have literally mentioned the name of the town in EVERY EPISODE.
