Disappointing, I couldn't finish watching it

I had such high expectations for this film, seeing it was direct by Gareth Evans (director of Merantau, the Safe Haven segment from VHS 2, and The Raid 1 & 2) As a director, I've always appreciated and admired his style of filmmaking. But this film just didn't work for me. I thought it was too slow and boring. It didn't even seem like a Gareth Evan's film. But maybe that's because it was so different compared to other films that he's directed. Before this film was released, I read a brief synopsis, and all I seen was the word 'cult'. At first, I thought this film was going to be a full-length story from the Safe Haven segment (which I was really looking forward to). But sadly, it's not.
