Why did Disney bother to remake Aladdin in a live action version?
I saw the first few minutes of the live action Aladdin on Disney+ and I can say it is the worst Disney movie in history. Take for instance why did Will Smith start out as a mariner when he tells the story of Aladdin to two little kids? Because in the animated version the song Arabian Nights starts the film and then the peddler tells the story of Aladdin but in this version Will Smith's Arabian Nights doesn't hold a candle to the late Bruce Adler's original version. Second I felt that the movie was rushed and that some scenes were missing that should've been there. Like when Aladdin sang One Jump Ahead they changed the lyrics and then in the animated version Aladdin and Abu share a feast of a loaf of bread but they didn't have that scene in this Aladdin. Instead Aladdin follows a woman who is not Jasmine but someone named Dalia now where Dalia came from I have no idea. Now in the animated version Aladdin made his home on the roof of a building but in this version Aladdin's home is a minaret like the type of towers they have in the Middle Eastern countries and Aladdin's room is decorated with furniture straight out of Pier 1 Imports and Disney could've done a better job designing this room. Onto the animals why did they make Abu so creepy looking and weird? I thought the animated Abu was cute and they should made Abu cute rather than weird. But I do like Rajah in this movie because he looks handsome and I love tigers. But I think Disney should've been smart and gone back to the drawing board and studied the animated version of Aladdin first before making this version. Hopefully the live action Mulan will be better than this movie
