Mediocre but not awful
As always, director Martin Campbell (Zorro, Casino Royale, Goldeneye) stages some great actions scenes. However, the script was paint-by-numbers.
One question I had: So Michael Keaton's character and Maggie Q's face off the end mere paces from each other with their respective guns pointed at each other. The POV switches to the outside and we hear two shots, a shadow passes in front of the window. Seconds later we see the door open and we get a VERY quick glimpse of Maggie Q's character exiting the building. She's almost completely in shadow and we don't even see her walk more than a pace or two before the credits role.
i. In your opinion, did both Keaton and Maggie Q end up shooting and killing each other? i.e. Maggie Q's character had just the strength to get down the stairs and out the door, but the end-credits roll before we see her collapse. At this point she had already been gut shot by Keaton as well as a bullet to the shoulder.
ii. If Keaton was shot first, how did he not mortally shoot her back when he was only feet from her? Or were both shots from her gun?
It's all speculation of course. My thought is that the vague-ish ending allows for a sequel, but others could legitimately claim the movie ended with her death as well.
