Looks promising
With the ever-excellent Natalie Dormer!
shareIt was quite good. Some moments were genuinely goose-bumpy/eerie, even some simple scenes such as the first view of Natalie Dormer standing silhouetted in a room in that Edwardian costume -- just the look of that image was creepy as fuck for some reason.
Some nicely done atmosphere there.
Also some gimmicky moments I didn't care for. But so far the show is capturing a similar feel to the wonderful Peter Weir movie, that feeling of an eerie heaviness, foreboding, doom, tension, and somehow managing to make these Edwardian people very creepy even in their floaty white dresses. Very effective.
Can you tell me why she went from a woman hiding from her past, and trying to make a buck running that school with a mean hand, to all of a sudden, running up that mountain to find "her" girls? I swear I didnt understand that ending at all. Oh, and instead of leaving town, she goes to the man who is threatening and harassed her? What am I missing? I welcome your reply.
