I think this will be good
The fact that the guy who directed the first apes movie made this makes me curious about it.

Well actually, it was only fair. I sort of enjoyed it, but it did drag at times.
😎
It wasn’t fair, this movie sucked ass. The humans already lost the first time and surrendered unconditionally as a result, there’s absolutely no way they’d be able to win against the aliens with guerrilla tactics

Okay then.

I agree - and as I've mentioned in my post, this film doesn't resolve shit (the whole premise was to have one of the rebels gain access to the alien mothership area - they succeeded - so now what? The end credits roll in - LOL) - which implies that it's nothing more but a failed pilot for a TV series.
Anyways, we've seen TV series about alien takeover and rebellion - but in those cases, the takeover was peaceful, so there was a reason to think that a war conflict could lead to a different end result. Here though - a war was already lost, so the whole premise was ridiculous at best. Then again - if this pilot was bought by some corp - and a tv series was created, I'm sure they'd find a way to take all aliens down at once by the end of the 4th season - something like a flu virus - or a computer virus - basically the standard solution to all alien adversaries facing humanity :)
At the end of the day, I wish they did not mislabel failed TV series pilots as movies (I've seen more than a few of these), but I guess they are trying to recover their losses, hence the deception.
