Maybe I missed something but I just didn't understand this. From the moment he sees Ingrid, he calls her Olga. What was this a reference to. How does he get the name Ingrid from Olga?

They're both Germanic names so the brother was just being a prick.

The relation is even thinner as Olga is a slavic name. So yeah, he was just being a prick.

Probably to him every woman is either one he wants to sleep with or, if not, someone he wants to make fun of. He gets off on it.
