Just shoot the dad? He had a gun the whole time after finding the siblings bodies.. Yet he lived six months with him alive. He could have buried the bodies too..

shareI don't think he ever went in the atic. He heard them screaming and then silence. He knew they were gone and decided to lock up the door. His father said "open the door" and he punished him by building the wall.
That's what I think happened.
However, there's a scene where he hears them screaming from the atic. At this moment you don't know if it's real. He then decides to stop hearing them by crushing the mirror. Their voices fade away. And they all appear in the fortress. (Now in his head) That lead us to think that he might have left them up there to die too. He wasn't himself after hitting his head. That's just a crazy thought that would make it more interesting. Lol
Cheers.
Yeah that would be interesting too! Thanks

I also think its possible his siblings where still alive after he locked the attic and that would make it all even more fucked up!
Because he couldn't face the reality. I think the wall he built also represented what happened in his mind - he shuts off his memory of that event and lives in denial for 6 months because he couldn't face the fact that his family is dead. In the end he was forced to face it all and shoot his dad to save Allie.
