Liked it but Ending...?

So, the main character was the empty man all along? The ending is a bit all over the place. I enjoyed the film, despite some goofy/clunky moments, and it was certainly interestingly written and directed. The intro story was very interesting, and the film had a massive level of suspense that keeps you on the edge throughout.

But the ending felt, I don't know, a bit vague. I didn't quite grasp what it all meant. The main character was the empty man, something that became obvious in the second half with his wearing of the rain poncho and such, but how does that relate to the rest of the story, particularly the beginning section with the hikers? What was the skeleton in the cave all about? What does this have to do with Lovecraft? I didn't quite get it.

It's about the Genuine Empty man and impostors who want to take his position. The genuine, which is the guy at the end on the bed, manifests impostors with his transmitting who end up on the 'bridge' in the vast blackness, and they try to get rid of the genuine empty man to get the followers.... the vast blackness however is supposed to theoretically know this situation and the movie is a response of this situation to the real Empty man, who I think might be named THX, or Boy of Time. It's the movie the Empty Man actually sees based on what is happening in the World or Time theoretically. But it might not be true, since there is no Empty Man....

The Pontifex Institute doesn't like the genuine Empty Man, because they can't see him, they don't know who he is or whether he will meet their needs. They try to help an impostor from the Bridge take over his position by destroying him, so they can get a leader that is tangible and productive to them. The Genuine Empty Man is never like that with anyone.....

If you combine my 2 ideas you get the Empty man actually kills himself, as though to say no body else can kill him..... the Monster, ghostface or the Empty man gets a new body and killing himself means the situation is now dangerous for the people who are kneeling to him now.... The Monster who could also be a beautiful woman, but might not necessarily like it has tricked the people who tried to kill him, and as you can see he is angry about the situation but his expression is blank, as if he is Empty. It's a trick of Judgment.
