SO EXCITED!

I wish there were others to talk to here! I love David Paulides Missing 411 books. I find this phenomenon to be chilling and fascinating. I don't know what to believe....is this paranormal? Cryptids? Aliens? Government kidnapping people? Maybe none of the above but it's certainly interesting to think about.

We pre-ordered our blu-ray the other day! Can't wait!

Have you seen it yet?
The reviews and feedback Ive seen so far haven't looked good.

***possible spoiler below***

Why has the movie put so much focus on the Deorr Kuntz case?
Paulides' set of 'criteria' should've ruled this case out.

reply

Yes I have and I was extremely disappointed. Not only was I irritated with the focus on the Kuntz case, but they did not really go into anything that makes all these cases extraordinary...had I known nothing of Missing 411 I would have simply thought this an average cold case documentary.

I totally agree the Kuntz case does not belong at all, my heart breaks for little DeOrr and I'm not saying his life is not important but it just didn't fit here. There were a great many cases I hoped to see featured and not a single one was.

Hmm, so it turns out the doc isn't very good? That's disappointing to hear.

This is the first I've actually read about it, but I checked out the trailer and it looked intriguing.

reply

Unfortunately no, it wasn't very good at all. It is hard to find reviews but on the missing 411 section of Reddit people most people seem to have the same opinion.....very much a missed opportunity :(

The trailer makes it look awesome but sadly it is very misleading.

reply

Hmm, that's unfortunate. I wonder why he chose to go in that direction with it.

Just inexperience as a filmmaker? Very strange.

reply

We were wondering the same thing, it had to be deliberate....maybe he was afraid of something? Maybe he was advised not to make it too "out there"? Obviously this is just conjecture but there must be some reason he went that direction. They had a few snippets of some of his radio interviews but they were in no way the focus.

The whole time we were like surely he's going to get to the weird stuff next, but it never happened.

If you can find a way to watch it for free do that....one thing I will say is that it was shot beautifully and had a very professional look in my opinion but yeah that's it.

reply

Hmm, well that sucks. Like you say, a missed opportunity.

Maybe at some point he'll try again and get it right. Just from the comments in the Reddit thread on the film though, it doesn't sound like he's taken criticism very well though.
