Halle Berry...

...looks absolutely georgeous!

But why Patrick Wilson tho? Very random casting tbh. Should have taken Chris Pratt instead.

reply

Pratt probably wasn't available. Surprised it's not Gerard Butler.

reply

Yeah, considering in 2012 Emmerich also randomly cast John Cusack out of nowhere, I guess that's how he rolls.

I just can't take Patrick Wilson seriously because he always reminds me of Will Arnett.

reply

Would Chris Pratt be too expensive at the moment? These are not the kind of films that need the biggest stars.

reply

Chris Pratt was probably doing The Tomorrow War when this was being filmed anyway.

reply

She is good looking, but I don't buy her as an astronaut at all.

reply

Why not? She's already an astronaut in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

reply

She was also an astronaut in the cancelled series Extant.

reply

She got the role because she's a woman and she's Black.

reply

She got the role because she's Halle fucking Berry.

reply

And the role was written for a Black woman specifically in order to have more Black female protagonists in movies in line with ideology of Hollywood.

reply

Ah, I see. Don't watch the movie then. Show them who's boss!

reply

I will watch the movie, I just won't pay for it.

reply

If you watch it you'll get brainwashed by Hollywood. Don't!

reply

I will watch it for entertainment value (if it ends up with decent ratings). No amount of Hollywood brainwashing can breach my mind. My critical thinking skills are too good for that.

reply

Exactly what a brainwashed person would say! Be careful now.

reply

And why would a brainwashed person say something like that?

reply

Drunken people always say they're not drunk.

reply

Do you have any evidence for that?

reply

Do you?

reply

I'm not making the claim.

reply

Okay.

reply

Great thread lmao

And funny thing is, jokes aside...

"No amount of...brainwashing can breach my mind. My critical thinking skills are too good for that."

IS exactly what a brainwashed person would say. Cause at that point, they're not open to correcting themselves anymore.

reply

Ikr!

reply

You confuse brainwashing with new evidence. These are different things.

reply

And her acting skills were so impressive that the show was cancelled.

reply

I have never watched the show but I doubt that it was cancelled because of her acting skills.

reply

Watch and dispel your doubts...

reply

She is probably the empowered female heroine of this movie...Smells like wokeness a Woke disaster movie or simply a Woke disaster

reply

Or simply a woke.

reply

I prefer Patrick Wilson over Chris Pratt (and Halle Berry) to be perfectly honest. I think the latter two have been mad overrated.

reply

Patrick Wilson keeps reminding me of Will Arnett.

Also he's a horror movie guy, not action scifi.

reply

My interest in his work predated his insidious movies lols: hard candy, lakeview terrace, watchmen so I already see him as versatile (as opposed to let's say...Chris Pratt haha)

reply

Chris Pratt is a lot of fun, has a ton of charisma, and apparently is a hell of a nice guy in real life (which makes me like him more as an actor).

I'm not sure how much range he has, but in certain kinds of roles he excels.

reply

Yeah, I dunno, he just doesn't grab me; I'm also uncertain of his range as well. I hear he was good with Tomorrow War but I didn't really have much interest in the movie itself to check it out. I also like his IRL persona too; he seems like an honest, good guy. And I certainly would have been interested in checking this movie out even if he were the lead instead. I don't dislike him.

reply

I enjoyed The Tomorrow War. I'd say that if you like sci-fi popcorn action films, where human characters battle alien beasts, and that have a bit of humor while also having a strong emotional center, then you should check it out.

I wonder if we'll ever see Pratt tackle a straight-up dramatic role. About the closest that I've seen to that so far is his small role in the western The Kid.
