There are jury consultant companies out there. They probably don't advertise except in lawyer/legal publications and they may not be as extensive as this portrays but it is just a TV show. Why do people have to pick everything apart? Why can't you just watch the show and enjoy it..or not?
ladyinred: I think that some of us are enjoying the show....except the parts that take us out of the fantasy and make us smack our head and think, uh, no. *Every time* they show Bull's consultant company--the wall of computer screens and the staff bustling around, I am completely distracted from the story, because I have to stop and wonder where the money comes for all that technology and people. Every time. So while there are indeed jury consultant companies out there, this one is a construct of Hollywood imagination, and they went overboard. Or they have to explain the financial realities of this company, how it can manage to function. Even with wealthy New Yorkers and rock star dudes, I can't imagine how they are covering their overhead, and we haven't even discussed prime NYC real estate yet....
Just because it takes you and some people here out of the show, that doesn't mean that it takes everyone out of the show. Your posts seem to indicate a belief that you are representative of the audience as a whole yet there is nothing but a few dozen people on a message board (if that) to back that belief up.
Most of the audience is simply not that invested. They come. They watch. They don't think about the show until they watch again next week. A much better data point is ratings and ratings are great so far. Could that change? Sure and if it does maybe you will be right that the set up was a bridge too far but as i have said time and again message boards discussing a show, especially some of these procedurals that skew older are not representative of the audience.
I don't know how that can be interpreted as speaking for everyone of the board. I pointed out that others have posted the same thing. Again, not everyone.
Good ratings does not equal a good show, just like bad ratings do not mean a show is bad....there was a discussion about a show I never watched, on this board, and I looked it up. It had a 92% rating from critics and I think (not positive now) 72% from audience. That's really pretty good. It got cancelled after one season.
This is a board where viewers can discuss the show. It's not a fan board. Comments about things that aren't working for one, as a viewer, are aired and discussed.
I just finished a post to someone on another board, who made a comment about a character. I questioned her about it, she elaborated, and I saw her point and I hadn't even noticed before! Yowza! Is that what discussion boards are all about? Or is it about pushing your own personal agenda.
Because on this board, it feels like no thinking allowed, unless you think like a few posters do.
In another thread you posted "In reading the comments here, it's obvious that this point takes people out of the show and isn't something where the usual "suspension of belief" works." which gives the impression that you think this board is representative of the audience as a whole. I am simply pointing out it isn't.
That isn't telling you what to post or what not to post. Also I don't see anybody saying no thinking allowed. There have been numerous threads discussing what some don't like about Bull. Of course those of us who disagree with those criticisms are going to say why we disagree.
Not once have I told you you are posting incorrectly. If you think I have please show the exact quotes where I have told you what to post and what not to post. Disagreeing with an opinion is not telling you how to post.
On the other hand you flat out posted the following
The show is called Bull, and there is no character named Tony.
Time to move on..
which was telling people what they should discuss and what they shouldn't.

So, are you going to go back and repost every post I've made? That'll be interesting! I always try to choose my words very carefully, and be clear in what I want to say. It will be interesting to reread everything again. Thanks for doing that for me!
Oh, and just reread your post above this one. That should clarify things for you.
Because in the above posts I have not told you what you should and shouldn't post. I did point out that this board isn't representative of the audience as a whole and it isn't. How is pointing that out telling you what to post and what not to post?
Don't be coy. You weren't telling me something for my own good. You know very well we are both adults, we've been posting on IMDb for a while, and we know when we are speaking for ourselves and when we are speaking for others. You just wanted to make *your* point, which was different from *my* point, and if you can make a sly jab at my expense, well, score.
Thus far, it hasn't worked out very well for you. But I am, however, losing any respect for you as a poster that I ever had.
Wasn't being coy at all nor was I pointing out something for your own good. I was simply commenting that this board isn't representative of the viewing audience as a whole. You seem to think that anyone having a different opinion than you is a jab at you and I can assure you it isn't. It is simply a different opinion.
