Bedside Manner

Did anyone notice the instance in this episode that seems to be a standard practice in almost every episode now. These high priced and prestigious law firms that can afford to pay for Bull's services seem to have milquetoast lawyers that require Bull to give them pep talks to give them confidence or plan their courtroom strategy for them.

IMO, I believe the only two reasons why this program is getting good ratings are because it has a juicy time slot (it follows the No. 1 Drama, NCIS) and a lot of people are fans of Michael Weatherly.

Or it maybe gets good ratings because people actually like the show.

I'm smart enough to click the remote off a show I don't like, nor do I follow an actor mindlessly if the show is trash. I like the show and look forward to it. I don't watch NCIS at all and I've figured out how to turn on the TV at 9:00 to watch Bull. Imagine! LOL

It's standard TV trope:
- our lawyers are better, brighter, cleverer than anyone elses
- our law enforcement team run rings around every other law enforcement squad or agency in the world
- our doctors are better than those in any other hospital
- our CSIs find clues that every other CSI on the planet misses
- our explorers go places that no one has ever gone before
- our team of mavericks run rings around any and all law enforcement

But then you don't have to watch if it bothers you.

I understand all that, but the more important question is "Do they make it believable?". IMO, they do a great job of it for NCIS, but not for this show. That is why it's the No.1 drama. If they move BULL to a new time slot, it's ratings will drop faster than an anvil with a cartoon character attached to it.

Not going to happen so you'll have to postpone your happy dance. Sorry!

And NCIS is believable? That's just funny. Gibbs would've been fired in episode 1 if that were the case. And it's become even more unbelievable as the years have gone by. People like it and that's fine. I'm over it.

Bull has done well up against a heavily promoted critic favorite. The competition gets all the positive buzz and promotion from the industry and it still holds it own so to think moving it to a different slot would kill it doesn't make sense. CBS has sold it to over 200 markets world-wide and you don't do that with a show that would tank.

reply

Seriously, you find NCIS believable? Maybe during the first few seasons, but not lately, especially not since around season 7 or 8.

reply

I think it is believable and interesting and so do millions of other people. That is why it has maintained the the ranking of No.1 drama on TV. Now if the ratings drop significantly I would have to say you would have a valid argument.
