Aftermath?

I wish we could have seen what happened to the characters at the end of the 1/27/17 episode. Addison, the CEO, deserved to be punished, although she had not meant for things to go as far as they did. And, even though Joe was a kidnapper, he and his family had been grievously wronged. I would like to see him get off as lightly as possible. As the police were not involved until the end, perhaps Fraser could refuse to press charges or to testify?

I agree that there needs to be some closure on this episode.

But the show isn't about that, so it doesn't belong.

Nevertheless, that's what I would like to see.

Ok...But then maybe you are watching the wrong type of show to your tastes and preferences. The show is just about the negotiation as he's a negotiator and not any part of the system. Besides, all the sentencing and punishment happen nearly years down the road from the arrest and booking.

American Graffiti and Animal House, to name just two, showed what happened to all the main characters. So, I understand, did the television show Six Feet Under. And the original Dragnet, among others, ended by telling what happened to the criminals. So there is precedent. Usually I don't care, but when the bad guys, like Joe, are so sympathetic and when someone who is not a villain but deserves some punishment seems to be getting away with it, I do care what happens.

Jack McCoy would have found a reason to prosecute her!

It doesn't matter what other shows are doing (and none of the shows you listed were about a negotiator), it matters what this show is doing.

Life isn't fair. I like it when tv shows are realistic enough to show that.

And I like your signature. It's funny.

SPOILER

We basically got to see the aftermath on the 2/11/17 episode Celina. Six months later the wife and the surrogate were living together happily (I got the feeling of mother/daughter or big sister/little sister) with the baby and the father was gone. I got a kick out of them saying his name was Eric. Then, when Eric got the big smile, they said it was really Sebastian!

Yes, but it was the aftermath with the victims, not the bad guys like you were wanting in a previous post. I personally don't want all that craziness, we have enough cop and robber and crime procedural shows in my opinion. And life isn't clear cut and dry and wrapped up in a bow. :)

We didn't get any sentencing info for the husband or any additional information on the kidnapper (would like to see another episode in season 2 -- if we get a season 2 -- with them coming across him again). It's kind of interesting, would you want to see the negotiator again, a person you'd automatically associate with a traumatizing time? Of course that person was your savior...

I also laughed at the joke of "Eric." It was a heartwarming and fun scene, but I wouldn't want it every episode.

I guess you could say Joe was a bad guy; he did commit a crime, but, as the old saying goes, "He was more sinned against than sinning." That's why I wanted to see what happened to him.
