You know it's a good film when...

I saw the film last night and left with so many unanswered questions. I feel like when you see a film and they answer questions and give you info upfront it can sometimes take away from the film itself. This movie left a lot to think about. Yorgos did a great job just as he did in The Lobster. I saw an interview with Nicole Kidman and she said similar things that films should make you think and ask questions.

This movie did just that for me.

Shocking, it's not playing anywhere near me (we don't get good cinema).

It's only at one theater in Omaha with like 2 times.

Just curious, what questions did it make you ask? Personally, I think it's got a lot of embryonic ideas floating about (the horrors of puberty, the precarity of the nuclear family structure, the sins of the father, etc.), but I don't feel they amount to much in the end. In my view "The Lobster" had a far more coherent concept and real depth and complexity in exploring social systems. "Sacred Deer" by contrast felt like an empty exercise.

Agreed. The Lobster had so much depth, whereas this one felt shallow and poorly thought-out. Big disappointment.
