[Spoiler Free] Short but nice movie with some humor and dark backstory
Just so you know, I went in blind. I saw that Elijah Wood was part of the cast and that it won a prize at Sundance and, well, that's all I needed to know. No news article, no trailer, nothing.
So, this movie! The plot is simple and yet it just works.
Sometimes you'll laugh, sometimes you'll feel bad and more importantly sometimes you'll relate.
Once again, I'm not disapointed by the Sundance Festival.
It can be slow for some I guess, but that's my kind of movie. Melanie Lynskey is a great everywoman while Elijah Wood plays a lovable, hum, unordinary man?
This movie gives you some nice little details, adding to the realism of the events you're witnessing. It can be quite funny if you pay attention.
It's kind of "uncategorisable", though. Like I said it can be funny, kind of oppressing (yes, yes)... Some would say it's a drama. I'd say it's a little piece of life, with its ups and downs.
It's a solid 7.5/10 for me. (And it's on Netflix, give it a go!)
