*Spoilers* is let off the hook in the end?

John the "Pilgrim" gets off the hook Scott free after all the mayhem and dozens of murders of innocent people he was directly responsible for because he has sons? Ummm what?

Okay Frank decides not to kill him. Okay that's fine, maybe Frank is starting to feel he doesn't necessarily have to kill every villain and will leave him to the police. Turns out not so much. To seemingly let him off the hook entirely to go on his merry way (because he has sons apparently) seems out of character & in general a total miscarriage of justice.

I think the season was a bit of a mixed bag overall despite being mostly alright but that was definitely a big unexplained WTF .

I agree. I understand Frank sparing him for his kids’ sake but after all the folks he murdered and/or endangered? He should’ve died like the rest in my opinion.

reply

Well, Frank did some despicable things because he'd been ordered to. He saw the same in this guy.

reply

I can see that but I wish they delved into that a bit more.

Punisher is not known for his compassion toward criminals.

reply

He saw the same in Billy, and he let him live, and look at all the people he got killed by doing that.

reply

No, he let Billy live expecting him to remember the pain he'd inflicted on him every time he looked in the mirror. He didn't expect amnesia.

reply

Yeah, I found John Pilgrim pretty despicable and loathsome even with the excuse at the end that his kids were being held..He got into all the blood and carnage just a little too much and didn't seem too concerned with collateral damage.

I wished him dead all along more then Billy who had killed and betrayed all his friends for nothing more than greed. And then revenge for their revenge.
Billy was a fun character to watch.
John Pilgrim...not so much.

I do think it was suppose to show that Frank saw that part in himself that would do anything for his kids or someone he cared for but he was nowhere as maniacal, to me, as John Pilgrim. Frank always kept the innocent in mind when he went for the jugular.

All I could think of as John Pilgrim drove away with his kids is that he was going to be screwing them up.

Seriously. I didn't even get into that point. Does Frank really think those children are better off being raised by a mentally warped, mass murderer rather than said murderer being killed or sent to prison where he belongs? Crazy

reply

Yea there should have been any reason Frank let that murdering POS pilgrim live. Frank has killed far more people for far less.
