Anyone else not a fan of the Micro wife, Castle and Micro love triangle?

I liked the show overall but was hoping it would follow more storylines from the Punisher Max comics, moving forward with Castle's villains instead of giving us another arc that focuses on his past. I accepted the story, but have to say the whole Micro family subplot brought the show down for me. Not to mention the scenes where Frank tries to deal with Micro's bratty son. Felt like two different shows. Anyone else have thoughts?

At every juncture, I felt the way you did but turned around by the end of the sequence

Meaning, Mrs. Micro kissing Frank was awkward, but I thought Frank (and, by extension, the writers) handled it properly and with class.

Same with the kid - I figured Castle would mess it up, he HAD to ... he's "The Punisher," but instead we get to see what's under the kid's brattiness, and we get to see the kind of father Frank used to be

So no, it didn't feel like two different shows to me. More like one show, but a completely unexpected show for a series based on "The Punisher."

I'll confess, though, that I stopped reading comics a long time ago, back when the Punisher was just a lycra-suited vigilante highballing around in his "war wagon." After this series, I'm interested in reading more about this Ennis-run that everyone's talking about.

Yeah, the scenes were handled as best they could. I guess my issue was more their inclusion in the first place. In a lot of the comics (if I'm not mistaken), micro's family is actually dead. That could have cut out that whole subplot. Sometimes I feel like these subplots are just added to pad the show and get it to 13 episodes.

And yeah, Ennis's Punisher Max is dope. It's 70 something issues, but Ennis left around issue 60. His run is amazing and turned the punisher into one of my favourite characters.

I know this...there were WAY TOO many scenes with Punisher and Micro's family in Season 1.

I'm not the only one then

I liked Micro. I thought it was good to show his wife was trying to move on. It made things more dramatic imo.
