Been aware that this film 'The First Omen' was coming out for a while now, only just looked into it for the first time and yep it's a prequel to the original classic.

Not sure what they'll be planning to do here. Focus on Damien's mother and how she became pregnant?

I don't have much faith in this project but it would be nice if it turned out well.

Expected to release around Halloween time this year. Not sure if it'll be a theatre release or not. Guess they'll see how the test screenings go.

Can't believe that slipped my mind. I was misremembering and thought the father was a jackal and the mother was human. Ha.

I'm at a loss for what they have planned here.

I expect it will be a remake of the original but with a few tie-ins to make it appear it takes place before and sets up events, when in actuality they just redid the same exact plot.

There was already a miserable remake that failed utterly, the only gimmick it had was to be released on the 6th of June 2006.

Hollywood has no ideas, I still bet they will reuse the same plot. They might not even tie it directly to the original because if it was successful they'd be stuck. I do wonder if they will bother to explain the smartphones.

It's set in the 70's before The Omen, so it not contemporary.

Strong cast, Bill Nighy and Ralph Ineson are terrific actors.

Nell Tiger Free was in Servant. There are similar vibes between The Omen and the show. Probably one of the reason they wanted to cast her.

No idea on the story yet, although she is apparently playing a Nun and it's set in Rome.

Well, I guess we can forget about a Halloween release date.
