A Few Questions *Spoilers*

Hello - I am new to this site/forum.

Yesterday I watched this great Iranian Noir film 🎞 I enjoyed it .. up until the ending that fell apart and didn’t make any sense to me.

• during the altercation with the man on the street, Esmail gets hit on the head by a rock and starts bleeding and we are to believe he is dying at that moment.
The movie then takes a complete turn and we switch to a new scene where Esmail is reunited with his family in Iran.
Is this supposed to be his imagination, or are we to believe he survived the injury to his head and was deported to Iran ?

• once back in Iran, Esmail is sitting with his daughter in the living room, two men walk in: a young man trying on a suit, and an elderly man (not his father in law) - what was that all about ? Who are those two men supposed to be ?

Any thoughts ? Please share - I appreciate it.
