Season 2
Does anyone know if this scored a season 2? I really like it. The character development was top notch and I haven't felt this invested in characters since the first season of Lost.

shareWe won't know unless Netflix announces it, Netflix keeps rating information to itself.
shareWasn't this picked up by Netflix for US distribution? I thought that this was airing on Canadian TV and Netflix just snapped it up? I watched the first 8? episodes online and I remember them having something like a channel stamp in one of the corners a la NBC or ABC. Either way, I really want this show to get a second season. The boards here don't seem to be kind to it and I'm wondering if I'm in the minority of those that look forward to this show.
shareAccording to Wiki:
The series is a co-production between Netflix and Showcase.
The boards here don't seem to be kind to itI thought so too during broadcast of the first episodes in October, but those that hated its eventually went away and the ones coming in after the worldwide Netflix release seem to want it to continue. I have read every entry for the last 11 weeks (yes I have too much time on my hands:) and am very encouraged by the general love for it, despite some reservations. So keeping my fingers crossed. share

As I understand it, Show Case is BOTH a production company and a Canadian network. Owned by Simon Barry it's put out shows like Continuum and Lost Girl.
My guess would be that Netflix bought the rights to air it in the US and it airs in CA just like any other network show. Which means the decision for renewal starts with ShowCase. Unlike the US, Canadian TV in general and Simon Barry in particular like to give their shows an actual shot at succeeding. Which would make renewal more likely. On the other hand, Netflix has actually been known to SAVE other shows from cancellation (Longmire is only one example) so it could really go in either direction. But if I were to gamble, I'd go with a second season.
But the way, it's genuinely refreshing to actually be able to respond to a post. The level of vitriol and viciousness I've been observing all over these boards has truly made me wonder if it's worth coming back to at all.

Yeah Fox.... (clueless me) I did some homework. Which was naturally done AFTER I opened my big fat mouth; and found out that they may in fact be two people. On the other hand, Continuum got more than one extra season after it's 3rd which were all kind of a gift to the fans. So I have some faith in either and/or both "Barrys" (or Barrys squared as I like to think of them) to give the show some staying power.
Of course, none of this serves as any kind of proof whatsoever that I am not some kind of crazy person haunting these boards whilst trying to escape the guys in white coats!

I don't understand why people "troll"
Seriously must be *beep* up to get their jollys in this way!!
There are a fair number of Trolls on any board. They rip shows apart in order to start arguments with users who like them, that's all there is to it. Not everyone who dislikes something is a Troll of course. The ones who just come out and state as a fact that this or that about the series sucks, and then call people names when they disagree, those are Trolls. Check a user's posting history if you really want to know. Big time Trolls have pages and pages of unrelentingly negative comments. Not a good word to say about anything.
Travelers was bought up by Netflix partway through the season. Whether it's all theirs now or still a partnership with the Canadian network that originally aired it, that I don't know. But they wouldn't have made an investment in a current series that was doing poorly. From what I understand it's being well received by viewers. It would be surprising if they didn't greenlight Season 2, but as jordan_thewizard pointed out Netflix tends to hold their cards close to their vest until they're ready to make an announcement.
I just binged all episodes and when it came to rate it, realized I was done. It has been a very long time that I have been so enthralled in a tv show. I loved it!:) The cast and script are amazing. Please Netflix....give us many more seasons to watch !:) Their was a news article on Dec 28th stating it wasnt well received. Whomever wrote it, gave an unaccurate review. Three cheers for Netflix!! You leave comcast in the dust on this show.
shareThe show definitely gets better towards the end, I think ep8 either ep 8 or 9 was a big improvement. I was ready to give up before that.
shareI just hope it isn't like Sense8, where I binge watch it and then by the time the next season comes out years later I can barely remember anything.
shareI dont know if they will, but I could go for a season 2, 3, and 4.
Good cast. Good plot, good story.
They do need to smooth out the Carly and Jeff issue. The Carly, Grant, Kat triangle issue also needs work.
