I don't know whether it was explained or not but were there results from the spinal tap?

And the guy that was supposed to shoot himself but had taken an overdose also was the drummer.

She wasn't doing it as a test. Marcy needed some of her own spinal fluid to prepare some sort of treatment that partially corrected her neurological imbalance and bought her time.
