Trevor's voice and talking style

Makes me feel like I am going insane. He has to be Canadian, or maybe a Hoosier, we all talk weird as shiiiijt. im a hoosier. btw.

reply

Yep, he's from the small mining town of Flin Flon, Manitoba, north of Winnipeg. According to imdb he spent his late teens and early twenties working in the mines and fighting in the local underground scene (a little art imitating life in the series premiere).

reply

Is Trevor the teen? he talks that way because his traveler is extremely old by our standards and very smart and polite.

reply

the actor too maybe, canadians do have a way about them. it isn't unlikeable, just....lol, hypnotic to a degree.

reply

I suspect that he's not the kind of person who can disappear into a role, but I thought he worked remarkably well as an old soul here. I especially liked the way he talks, even if that is just his regular voice. He even overcomes that he looks too old for the part.

At least not in this role:). In this interview he is basically Trevor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u03cOrkjUY

reply

Yeah, it does seem so. Likeable guy though.

reply

Very.

reply

I find his voice very attractive, I'm not surprised he turned out to be Canadian. There's something about those Canadians.

reply

Frankly, twentysomething actors playing teenagers is such a common practice it barely deserves comment. Eighteen plus cast members are just easier than having to deal with all the rules and regulations governing minors, not to mention obnoxious stage parents who try to hold the production hostage with demands for script changes and such. Get someone who can sign their own contracts and work like any other adult and you spare yourself a lot of headaches.

reply

His voice is always hoarse and raspy and breaking like a 13 year old's. Is that his real voice or is he doing it for the show? I keep hoping he'll clear his throat to get the frog out.

reply

Frog? Throat? You clearly are a pervert.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefsī²

reply

They're all Canadian except the guy who plays the abusive cop...he's from Pennsylvania.

The show runner/creator is Brad Wright of Star Gate SG-1 fame. He produces and hires his own in Canada. Some US actors too, but there is an ample stock of good "journeyman" actors in Canada that will work for less than most "name" actors from the USA.

I am from the USA and I support that he hires Canadians first. Plus, I love Brad's work and his casting choices. I started watching the show just because of him. Nice to see Teryl Rothery all sleek( she was all frumpy in Caprica) and BETTER looking than ever before. Wish we had seen more of her.

Oh, I happen to like Trevor character the best. He seems to be such a passionate caring soul. I like his voice and speech pattern,,,a lot.

reply

That voice sends funny-tingly-pleasant shivers down my spine. And Jared seems to be a fine actor too.

reply

Yeah, something about his voice strikes a happy chord with me. It's definitely not like anyone else's I've ever heard, maybe I just like the uniqueness?
