Only watched 3.5 episodes,curious about

Only watched 3.5 episodes, curious about why the high number of agents?

Wouldn't one of the time effects of changing the past , cause a ripple effect that some of the agents may or maynot been born?

I mean to say that, maybe someone of the 11,000 that would have died in the explosion, would change something in the future timeline.

Or more to the point, after stopping the event, wouldn't they have all disappeared, because then in the new timeline, they wouldn't have a reason to go back in time!

I think the movie A Distant Thunder had it right to a point.

I'll keep watching, just hope the writers remember Time doesn't always give us what we want.

Continue watching because the later episodes does answer your questions. :)

That's getting into the paradox of time travel - You change the past so that you are never actually born, that means you never go into the past to change it, and you are born to go into the past and change it so you are not born. You see how it creates a loop?

This is one of the problems of doing a show/movie/story on time travel into the past. You just have to not think of it too much, and just enjoy the show. If you think about it too much, you lose interest in. It's not a documentary to teach you about time travel, but is instead a TV show to entertain you. Let it do that.

And without giving away too much, their actions do change the future that they knew. But you jsut have to watch to see how much, and in what way the future changes.

They have to build a bunch of stuff in order to effect the change, hence large number of travelers (4,000+). If you look around, it is apparent that 99% of the people on this planet have no significant impact on the future (or the present, IMHO). They are fodder and therefore easily replaced by similar chunks of protoplasm. Therefore, ripples in space time from them are minimal. And again, one has to tolerate a certain number of big events because their mission is to change a big event. Given the constraints under which they have to operate, I think they have done a bang up job storywise.

I need to go back and look at Phillip's wall to see if Clemson 31, Ohio State 0, appears anywhere. Talk about a disturbance in the force!

Also remember that early on there was a high percentage of misfires so the effective numbers were smaller than it would appear.

It seems they know they're not going back so would.they really care?
