Silly plot twist for Belour Hamzad / young Abbey Chase in Episode IV (spoilers)

Up until Episode IV, the character Belour Hamzad / young Abbey Chase was the diminutive and inert wife & counselor to her warlord-husband Faraz. In episode IV, she’s suddenly a Spetsnaz GRU killing ninja assassin? It also doesn’t make sense that Faraz sends her (rather than himself) to capture the Russian Spetsnaz commander when his motive for the operation was fear / offense about the Russians threatening to kill her in the first place

That bothered me too. No way Hamzad would send her. Very old school over there about the roles of wives, especially to powerful men. He wouldn't risk her life once, and especially twice. Also, she wasn't raised in a world of violence so I'm unsure how she would have picked up elite assassin skills - she said her parents were both professors. It just didn't make sense.

I believe the scene was there to show she was an independent woman that Johnny would start to fall for. There was a cut to him watching her kill that guy and he looked impressed.

Yeah ... this show is stupid. Very stupid.

That's the only thing that was stupid?

reply

Fair point. I’m gonna give season two an episode or so and if it’s all the same, I’ll pull the plug

reply

I didnt realise it was her ,
I thought it was some other similar looking woman from his militia - with Ninja skills .
Probably for the reasons outlined - it didnt make sense for it to be Belour

(admittedly I was a few beers in by ep 4 )
