Ohh NOOOO!
Why does every series have to go on forever until it gets so bad you just dump it.
Hey Networks - have a story, introduction, middle conclusion.
I'm semi-enjoying the Old Man ... but I was just hoping it would end, and not play
with the audience as a way to collect more money from us.
i also prefer mini-series at this point.

There used to be miniseries, like "I, Claudius" comes to mind, that had a point, a beginning, a middle and a conclusion. They did not just create never-ending, or running until advanced boredom sets in like we have today in so many series.
They usually do not go well when they get too long. Like Deadwood, or Rome both had the sense to tell a story and then end. When they tried to bring Deadwood back, it flopped.
I'm enjoying The Old Man, but I'd just as soon that it end in one season.
I was surprised that they extended "For All Mankind" and it looks like it was pushing it too hard.
LOST had everyone going for a long time, but that was to its detriment I think. Does anyone care now?
Every story has a form that it would do best in. Movies these days do not have time to tell the kind of
stories people want to see, so they end up having endless sequels and spinoffs. Mostly, it's awful.
